Bettye will be at the 6th Annual House of Blues Folk Art Festival 2004, Orlando - November 12th, 13th, & 14th. Best chance to see her new artworks. Original paintings & Prints just in time for the Holidays! It is a wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with Florida's well-known folk artist and memory painter.
  Gary and Erika Schmidt of Bay Street Gallery are exhibiting Florida artworks from several of the artists who are featured in "Extraordinary Interpretations." Sunday, Bay Street Gallery was infused with the high energy of the artists for a gallery's book signing day. Show's curator Jane Backstrom. Above, folk artists Margot Warren from Winter Haven and Rodney Hardee from Lakeland. A time to meet and/or visit, exchange some life experiences, the artists seem to share a wonderful secret. Folk Art Collaboration Exhibition...September 14 through October 20, 2002
"In 1999, folk artist Woodie Long began a collaborative project which brought together many of the foremost talents in folk art from the Southeastern U.S. The artists worked together to create panels that melded their typical styles and subjects into unique compositions. The Museum will premiere a selection of approximately twenty-five of these works in the Artworks Corridor."

Acclaimed folk artists from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina will be represented. "This is only one of many shows to come."

Mennello Museum Of American Folk Art, Orlando, Florida
"Selections from the Permanent Collection"
June 7 until August 10, 2002
 
The Mennello Museum exhibition will showcase some of America's best self-taught artists from the City of Orlando's Public Art Collection, such as Kurt Zimmermann, Charlie Lucas, Clementine Hunter, Margot Warren, Bettye Williams, Earl Cunningham, and Mr. B.
Bettye Williams' historica painting "Another Cane Grinding" will be on exhibit. This painting is one of seven that was chosen by the Florida Masters Collection to be published as limited edition prints. The print was used in the movie "Fair Game."
Another painting to be exhibited in the "Selections from the Permanent Collection," is "Watermelon-Butcher Knife-Morton Salt Box" from Bettye's Watermelon Collection.
In addition the Museum will unveil works donated by Josh Feldstein of Gainesville, Florida. This gift includes works by Jesse Aaron, Mr. Eddy, Alyne Harris, Bruno Del Favero, Regine Gilbert, Minnie Evans, and Andrea Badami.

The Mennello Museum of American Folk Art, at 900 East Princeton Street,Orlando, Florida, 32803 is opened Tuesday-Saturday 11am-5pm and Sunday noon-5pm. The Museum is closed on Mondays and major holidays. Admissions $4 for adults, $3 for seniors (60+), $1 for students with a valid ID, children under 12 and Members are free. Cross "An Artist's Eye on Florida History" is an apropos title to welcome memory painter Bettye Williams' participation. The exhibit is about viewing the past through artists' paintings and includes Seminole photographs from the 1930s. The exhibit will also host artists of Contemporary Highwaymen Paintings and display Historic Highwaymen paintings and much more.

January 11th the Artists' Welcome night to the exhibition.
Two very different artists who paint Florida, (Highwayman) James Gibson and Memory Painter Bettye Williams. Both are important to Florida's art history. Their artworks are exhibited in conjunction with An Artist's Eye on Florida History exhibit.
 
 
 
  For Tori (Bettye's granddaughter). After seeing all the photos and Bettye telling her about the afternoon at the Bay Street Gallery book-signing, Tori wanted to see the photos of Meemaw fixing PeePaw's collar before the next photo was taken.
